Facilitators Training: As I see it

By Merlita VM PUNDAODAYA, MA-MIGRANTI Iligan Volunteer

The facilitators training that we attended showed us what a daunting mission we have! And, this realization resonates deeply with volunteers like me, who know all too well how thousands of workers worldwide make so many sacrifices out of love for their families.

Truly, the Facilitators Training was God’s way of bringing about greater clarity and purpose to our MIGRANTI volunteers in Mindanao. The Service Team from Manila showed both competence and commitment that were certainly inspiring. I especially appreciated the principles of adult learning as a way of drawing out our unique perspectives and experiences. They met the trainees’ suggestions and queries with enthusiasm and encouraged them to explore possible collaborations in their respective communities.

The training was indeed an eye opener on how to better address the plight of migrants and I am grateful to our Mindanao Island Coordinators Didi and Sis Lally Escudero for the opportunity to be part of MIGRANTI. I look forward to serving with joy and helping our OFWs and their families to face the challenges of separation. God bless us all.
